Pedestrian Accidents
Pedestrian Accidents
As with motorcycle accidents, when a pedestrian is struck by a vehicle, the injuries can often be catastrophic if not fatal, due to the lack of safety gear and the absence of a buffer of being inside the cabin of a vehicle, which provides inherent protection.
And while the number of traffic accident fatalities has decreased, the number of fatalities in pedestrian accidents has increased.
The injuries a pedestrian can face are very similar to those of motorcyclists, which are:
- Traumatic brain injuries and other types of head injuries
- Broken or fractured bones
- Spinal cord injuries, such as partial or complete paralysis
- Back and neck injuries
- Neurological injuries
- Internal organ damage
- Scars and abrasions
